Our aim was to create a campaign that was visually striking by combining the worlds of aerospace and nature. The Kingfisher key visual is a carefully crafted composite image made up of four separate images. It brings together a Gulf Stream G650 aircraft (GKNA make the empennage) and a beautiful bird well-known for its agility in flight superimposed onto selected backgrounds. We researched and combined images to create a unique and compelling image.
The addition of a diagonal opaque “slice” though the visuals is a nod to the chevron in the corporate logo and gave us the graphic device to apply a consistent treatment to all future employer branding images. The concept is amazingly adaptable working across digital and print formats (even wrapping buses), static and animated versions as well as large format posters and social media paid and organic.
The culmination of our work was the Employee Branding Guidelines, a 40 page document that laid out everything from the philosophy behind the work right through to the technical implementation details.
As well creating and implementing the key campaign visuals we also helped as design support on the wider employee branding in order to tell the stories of current GKN Aerospace employees. Using photography provided by the team at Dawson Walker, we built upon the design foundations we had previously developed to rollout a wide range of assets both digital and physical including posters, leaflets and exhibition banners.
