For the naming we wanted to draw on the clubs history and connect with the town. Black Lion Kitchen was inspired by the teams crest which features the Maiwand Lion - an iconic feature of the local Forbury Gardens. We also used the crest to guide the colour palette, pairing black with golden yellow, which also features on the team away kit.
We have created a brand treatment that can be flexible; the simplicity of the word mark and lion contrast with the rough dynamism of the painted typography. Together you have a solid base upon which a kinetic layer can be overlaid - reflecting the excitement of the sport.
